In 1993, a selection of Phil Wood & Co. employees with backgrounds in engineering, design, and fabrication were put together to help design and build racing bikes specifically to test new products coming out of Phil Wood & Co. During that time frames being offered were breaking before Phil Wood & Co. components could be fully tested.

Today, Phil Works has been charged with continuing the development of new products, produce products for custom applications, provide custom wheels in support of Phil Wood & Co. dealers and frame builders, and provide R&D and consulting services to innovative startups.
