Carbonyte

Carbonyte bearings are very high-performance, low rolling resistance bearings, designed for speed. This means that they will not match the endurance or longevity of our (standard) ABEC-10 Extreme Application Bearings.

Carbonyte bearings are extremely high-quality stainless steel cartridge bearings, made to our exacting specifications and to our stringent tolerance requirements. Every specification set in our standard bearing has also been changed in our Carbonyte bearing. From the race tolerance to the proprietary Carbonyte grease applied to provide protection against wear, yet to allow for the low rolling resistance you would expect from a race-day bearing. The seals are are not full-contact as would be found in our standard bearings, which is how contaminants can enter the cartridge and cause wear. For this reason we do not recommend these bearings to our year-round mountain bikers or our round-the-world touring customers. This bearing is for racing or fair weather riding.
